1. Make a wire ring for the opening using a coat hanger. The idea is to pull the net with an open mouth, allowing the water to filter through the panty hose. Sew the opening of the panty hose to the ring. |

3. Cut the bottom of the panty hose and secure it to a plastic 12 once water bottle using a small hose clamp. |

4. The Scouts will drag the net at the research site. Hopefully, the plankton will be collected in the net, and squeezed into the bottle. The sample will be taken to the plankton lab and examined using our projection microscope. |

3. A light rope harness needs to be attached to the net opening with at least 3 feet of light rope or cord as a drag line |
