Big News!!!! THE NEW MARINE EDUCATION CENTER will be built on board the USS Aircraft Carrier Yorktown. We hope to have the Center fully operational for the start of the 2009 School Year.

The Beach Program - (WATCH OUT FOR THE PRIRATES!) Join our staff biologist on a Guided Barrier Island Beach walk at Fort Moultrie, Sullivan's Island, Charleston. The multi curriculum program includes discussions on the Historical and Environmental events that make up the harbor's maritime heritage. Students participate in various activities including scavenger hunts, seine net pulls and environmental demonstrations. The 2 hour course is conducted at the mouth of Charleston Harbor, one of the best platforms to understand how the harbor's evolution. The program is a perfect addition to groups participating in the History & Science program conducted at Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum.

History & Science - Our signature educational program has been expanding to include programs for 3rd, 5th and 7th grade students.

We are sad to report that The M/V Charleston Explorer has been sold . Over 80,000 students rode the vessel during her 8 years in the harbor. The new owners have just completed a complete overhaul of the vessel. Our staff has been working with them, to continue the educational tradition offered by the vessel.
